Here we are from 4/23/25 through 6/6/2025. We left Palm Harbor, Florida and made several stops heading up the US East Coast toward New York City.
Since we won't be in the PNW area this year, so I flew back to Seattle to get some annual recurring medical visits taken care of. Visiting our son Aaron and having a SUPER huge and delicious Rib Eye steak dinner! |
I'm at Aaron's in Seattle at the rooftop BBQ area. The view and weather was spectacular all day. |
Serious ouch -- Our traveling down the road has caused my cabinets in the Motorcycle trailer to completely separate from the front wall. Oh my.... |
In process of getting the fully nailed- and glued-on cabinets from the collapsing wall. This plus the rebuild took almost all remaining five days we stayed in Doswell, Virginia, just outside of the Virginia capital of Richmond. |
We've made it to College Park, Maryland near Washington, DC. Our RV park was REALLY nice, and called Cherry Hill Park. They have some huge areas designatd for dog-walking and running! |
Their larger pool was closed just one day, and this was it! |
An attractive view near the cafe and clubhouse inside the RV Park. |
Another view in the Cherry Hill RV park. |
This may LOOK intense or confusing, but the fact is that the Metro system of trains to from, and around the city are phenomenal. The six colored lines on this chart go to or from everywhere, are very inexpensive (especially for us seniors!) and a delight to ride on. |

We did an open-air bus ride on Saturday, 5/24/25. We couldn't get CLOSE to the White House, but it was kinda cool to get this close. |
We're still on the bus (rooftop seating!) as we pass by the Washington Monument on the National Mall. |

A view of the Metro tube that carries one of the train lines we rode on. VERY clean, easy to negotiate, and all-in-all, very positive experience overall. |

Down in the tunnel that runs the Metro Trains, signs everywhere mark what train is coming, where it is going, what color line it is, and when it arriving/departing (about every 6-7 minutes). |
I took the Metro back to the National Mall in Washington DC on Sunday, May 25th. I did a LOT of walking everywhere and saw all the major sites on the Mall. This is the World War II Memorial. |

Another view at the WWII Memorial. |

The Washington Monument and the Reflecting Pool alongside the National Mall. |

Just thought this was funny. |

Approaching the Lincoln Memorial. |

From the top of the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, looking back at the Washington Monument and Reflecting Pool. |

Of course, the Lincoln Memorial. |

Still at the Lincoln Memorial. |
At the Western-most entrance/exit to the Vietnam War Memorial. |
A closer view of the Vietnam War Memorial. |
 Again. |
At the Eastern entrance/exit of the Memorial. It is a very somber and quiet place to be, no matter how many visitors. |
It's Monday, 5/26/25 and we are on an open-top, get-off-and-on-wherever-you-want "Big Bus" for a tour of the National Mall. |

Still on the Big Bus tour. |
Still on the Big Bus tour, now at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. |
Another on the open-top bus. |

Another funny we happened across. |

It's now Friday, 5/30/25 and I'm at Home Depot in Jersey City, New Jersey. ALL of the sizeable vendors I would visit have their parking underground because of the space limitations in the City. This one is Home Depot, just about a mile fro our RV park, Liberty Harbor RV park. |
Testing that I know where to go in a few mornings for the Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty ferry tour. The cobblestone road to the parking lot is about a mile long and HORRIBLE ride on a motorcycle! We would be going about 10 MPH max! |
It's now Thursday, June 3 and Gloria and I have just gotten off of the PATH train to NYC and the World Trade Center area. This is the inside of the WTC PATH train station, and it is MASSIVE and very attractive insde and out. Gloria has lost 70 pounds (!) and is pretty proud of that accomplishment! |
Still inside the WTC PATH station. |
This is one of the two the Memorial Pools at the WTC location, and this one is where the North tower building stood, I believe. |
Engravings of those who lost their lives in the tower collapse including first responders. The names also include those killed in the 1993 attack that was the first attempt to take the buildings down. |
It was a beautiful day to enjoy the surroundings of the WTC as well. |
 Just another view. |
Inside the museum is a very thought-provoking self-guided walk. One could easily spend several hours here. Of course here on display are what is left of two of the column supports from one of the towers. |
A poignant place to stand and imagine. |
 This speaks for itself. |
Another saved piece of twisted support metal from one of the towers. |
This is a recovered piece from the radio tower that was atop one of the towers. I had no idea they would be this large. That's got to be 9-10 feet in diameter. |
This is the exterior of the PATH train station. |
Not sure what this actually represents, but it was cool looking and all the kids were climbing on for pictures from moms and dads. |
It is Wednesday 6/4/25 and we are on the ferry over to Ellis Island and then Statue of Liberty. This was a fantastic place to enjoy the New York/Manhattan skyline. |
Yeah, we were having a fun. I think it must have been around noon here, and about 70 degrees out. |
Another view of the NY City skyline. |
Some fun facts about the Statue of Liberty. |
There is a perimeter walk around the entire pedestal under the Statue and I have just started, here from about half-way around. |
And there she is from the front. A Phenomenal weather-day for our visit. It is probably about 75 degrees out now. |
